Puerto Ricans celebrate the 2010 Puerto Rico Light Tackle Association Cap Cana Invitational

Mr. Mickey Tirado, organizer of the event pointed out that the  “Puerto Rico Light Tackle Association,  felt that since billfish are so abundant during this time of year in this part of the coast of the Dominican Republic and since our organization supports light tackle fishing, as of this year we are going to use as headquarters,  the excellent facilities offered at Cap Cana Marina.”

The vessel “Blue Bird” won the best boat award  earning  a total of 1,025 points.   This boat also won first prize at the last XLV White Marlin Cabeza de Toro Yacht Club Tournament on May 20-21.  Jesús Montano, Harold Vicente and Hans Magual were on board the “Blue Bird”.  The vessel “Caramba” came in second with 615 total points, with  Angel Montaner, Midel Gómez and  Enrique Ricart on board.  The boat “HydraSport” finished third with  615 total points, and  Luis Ayala, Richie White, José Canales and  Stanley Castro on board.

Harold Vicente won the best angler award with 615 points on board of the Blue Bird.  Luis Ayala, on board of the HydraSport came in second with 410 total points and Ángel  Vélez finished third earning 410 total points on board of the Magic Touch.

As is customary, within the different activities offered during the 2010 Cap Cana Fishing Season the participants and guests enjoyed a diverse social agenda which included cocktails and a delicious pig roast    (“Lechonada”) especially prepared for them at one of Cap Cana’s many beautiful pools, lining the turquoise coast of this great destination.   The tournament ended with the awards dinner celebrated at the Acquamare Restaurant located inside the impressive  Cap Cana Marina facility.
